    9.00 – 10.30 Foot strength assessment and foot activation exercises to get started

    –          Introduction

    –          How and why to assess foot strength

    –          Practical – how strong are your feet?

    –          Discussion around exercises to activate the feet

    –          Practical – try the exercises and practise teaching them

    10.30 – 11.00 Break
    11.00 – 12.30 Foot strengthening – exercise intensity, dosage, and working to goals

    –          Theory – exercises to induce true strength gains in the feet

    –          Should we use functional or foot-specific exercises?

    –          Practical – try the exercises and practise teaching them

    –          Discussion around exercise prescription – goals and dosage

    12.30 – 13.30 Lunch
    13.30 – 15.00 End-stage/return to sport exercises and tying it all together

    –          Theory – end-stage exercises and returning to sport

    –          Practical – try the exercises and practise teaching them

    –          Examples of exercise progressions. Time for questions.

    15.00 – 15.30 Break
    15.30 – 17.00 Case studies – group discussion and practical examples

    By the end of the day attendees should be able to:

    1. Confidently assess foot strength both subjectively and objectively
    2. Prescribe a simple, progressive exercise programme for the feet
    3. Clinically reason why to use certain exercises in accordance with patient needs/goals
    4. Understand how to effectively dose exercise prescription for optimum gains
    5. Understand foot muscle anatomy/function and how this informs our selection of exercises
